The environmental crisis is real: we recently learned from WWF* that 68% of the planet's wild vertebrates have disappeared in the last 50 years, and will continue to disappear if humans continue to take no action. Every year, 750 million tons of waste are found in the Mediterranean Sea alone. The plastic continent (a giant landfill made of plastic waste floating in the Pacific Ocean) is the size of Mexico! All this pollution is slowly killing the planet and its inhabitants. And when I say "inhabitants", I think of animals, but I also think of humans, nosotrxs!
Each year, between 365 and 400 kg of waste is produced per person, and 96% of employees say they are willing to change certain work habits to reduce their environmental footprint.
Therefore, you will have understood the importance of having to generate less waste.
The office is often the place where we learn a lot. We spend a lot of time at work. Learning simple actions and changing your habits at work can stimulate a positive approach to society.
The Zero Waste workshops we offer are conducted in small groups to facilitate discussions and ensure the conviviality of this moment. Thanks to our zero waste initiation course, your employees will strengthen team cohesion by getting to know each other better.
Many employees and customers are very attentive to the values conveyed by a brand. Adopting Zero Waste values in the office can become an excellent communication tool to promote a brand to employees, but also to customers.
As proof, more and more young graduates are refusing to work for polluting companies.
Beyond that, having an eco-responsible approach allows employees to give more meaning to their work and to what they produce. In other words, this is what workers are looking for now and what they will be able to find in the Zero Waste approach.
The new generation entering the labor market has a keen interest in working conditions and, in particular, in well-being at work. A company that cares about the environment and acts in this direction is developing its employer brand. It attracts new talent and retains it more easily.
By avoiding the production of waste, we avoid a whole series of actions such as collection, transportation, disposal or burial of waste in a specialized center, which represents an economic cost for cities and companies. There are many reasons to move towards "Zero Waste" and it is everyone's effort that will ultimately make the difference.
If employees and the purchasing department are sensitized to consume better, they will reconsider their purchases to avoid overconsumption. These include office supplies, IT equipment and furniture, not to mention daily consumption, such as coffee breaks. It's no longer a secret, buying in bulk costs less than buying in individual servings: a classic coffee (with single-dose, stirrer and sugar bag) costs $15, while no-waste coffee (in bulk and with a teaspoon) costs $3.
Do you work in a CSR / HR / Communication / Events department and want to encourage your teams to switch to Zero Waste? Are you sensitive to the environment and want to talk about our Zero Waste Initiation Conference within your company?
